For Deborah L. Brown, serving Courage Under Cancer is deeply personal. She lost her mother to pancreatic cancer, an experience that gave her a lasting understanding of how profoundly cancer affects not only the diagnosed person, but also the family members who walk beside them.

When Deborah first learned about Courage Under Cancer, she felt immediately drawn to its mission and compelled to become involved. She began by participating as a model, using that opportunity to help bring visibility and support to the organization. Her commitment soon grew into a larger role, and she is now proud to serve as a member of the Board.

Deborah believes that compassion, encouragement, and practical support can make a meaningful difference during one of the most difficult seasons a family may face. Through her work with Courage Under Cancer, she hopes to help spread awareness of the resources, care, and support available to cancer patients and their loved ones.

For Deborah, this work is also a way of honoring her mother's memory. By lending her voice, time, and energy to Courage Under Cancer, she hopes to help other families feel supported, seen, and strengthened throughout their cancer journey.
